DID YOU KNOW?

Many people are surprised to find out that we have five paid staff members to take care of the day to day operations of the shelter.

It takes about 180 man hours a week to run the shelter, including cleaning cages and kennels, completing adoptions, answering the phone, washing dishes, processing paperwork, and everything else we do during the course of the day.  This does NOT include any fundraising efforts, events, pet socialization, like walking dogs or playing with cats, or any emergency situations.

We have several great volunteers, and we value their dedication greatly.  However, the volunteers only work about 15-18 hours each week.

Are you interested in helping reduce our expenses by becoming a volunteer?  We are looking for adults that can commit to at least 2-4 mornings a month to help with the cleaning and basic daily tasks.  Get involved today!
